Ducktales tv show reboot has been ordered by Disney XD

80’s babies rejoice!  One of our dreams is finally coming true, with news that Disney XD has ordered a Ducktales reboot.  More after the jump!

Today, Disney XD announced that it has ordered a season of a new animated comedy series based on the much beloved and emma-winning series that aired from 1987-1990 for their The Disney Afternoon daily syndicated cartoon block.  The series has been scheduled for a 2017 launch.  It is being produced by Disney Television Animation, and will of course star all of your favorite iconic characters from the gang.  For those of you out of the loop, that means a return for Scrooge and his grand nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and of course Donald will be showing up.

The show will again follow the zany and wacky adventures of the family and I for one can’t wait!  I’m sure you other 80’s babies out there “and even some of you 90’s babies” are excited too!

“DuckTales’ has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults,” said Marc Buhaj, SVP, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD. “Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
